It is a great honour for Sachin Shigwan to be a part of TEDx BHISKanpur as a speaker. It is indeed privilege to represent Green India Initiative Pvt. Ltd. and speak on behalf of thousands of underprivileged population from rural India. He feels that The Solar Man title given to him, comes with great responsibilities and he is motivated to provide light of hope through solar energy to many awaiting for affordable, reliable and modern energy in their life!
Known as the Solar Man of India, Sachin Drupada Yashwant Shigwan is successfully running a social enterprise– Green India Initiative Pvt. Ltd., in the field of Environment and Rural Development through solar energy. For the last 10 years, this social enterprise has contributed enthusiastically to the educational growth of rural school children in India ,creating awareness among Indian youth towards nature and the environment. The Green India Initiative Pvt Ltd till now has lit up 450+ villages in seven states of India and Sachin has personally worked in more than 370 villages to understand the real issues of rural India. He has a mission of lighting up 1000 rural schools/villages with the help of solar energy till 2025. Green India Initiative Pvt. Ltd. is fortunate enough to receive the following awards Dr. Shirin Gadhia Sustainability Award 2014 by Eco Centre icneer, Baroda, Global Solar Energy Leadership Award 2015 by Global Solar Energy & Conference, Mumbai.
Mr. Sachin Shigwan also recognized by Sony BBC Earth as a Earth Champion and also Sustainability Champion by another recognized organisation.
