‘Gulmohar’ is a beautiful document of human feelings in the festival of Holi

Today everyone, child or young or old man, is trying to get out of his own struggle, but hesitance dominates to such an extent that he does not share with each other. The story of three generations of the Batra family living under one roof stems from this untold living condition.

Some poet had said very well, ‘Rusm-e-duniya bhi hai, mauka bhi hai, customs bhi hai’. Gulmohar is often mentioned in music. Gulmohar is a special kind of flowering tree which is considered a symbol of beauty and peace. It is said that heaven is felt under the Gulmohar tree, it also gives a person the experience of freedom. The story of the film is the story of ‘hesitation’, the story of saying no. Even if complete is enough, it is not necessary that it is complete. If there is love, don’t hesitate, say without any doubt ‘I am in love’, because it is necessary to say one night more than being! To make yourself more than the whole, it is necessary to say your being.

Today everyone, be it a child, a young person or an elderly person, is trying to get out of his or her own struggle, but hesitance dominates to such an extent that one does not share with the other. The film ‘Gulmohar’ is a story of three generations of a family living under one roof, which is a beautiful experience to watch.

The entire makers team deserves congratulations for this perfect family drama that manages to keep you hooked till the end, but the film is not commercial and it would not be an exaggeration to call it artistic because of its non-play in future. In the present times, the unique depiction of the problems and challenges of the disintegrating joint families is in the film because it is in auto mode.

There is no attempt to impart knowledge, neither any character has been described as good or bad, everyone has his own hesitation, his own struggle to get out. Overall, every character changes itself and is also acceptable. The creation of an interesting plot of love story going on between the servants of the family is like icing on the cake.

When the film starts, it seems cumbersome for 10-15 minutes due to so many characters being taken together in the frame, but then when the film catches the rhythm, it gets carried away in a way. Without any exaggeration, the feeling of insecurity of every character has been engraved in such a way that it gets connected immediately.

One more thing, it is tempting to replace the very current saying ‘jab jab jo hona hai tab tab so so hota hai’ with ‘…was meant to be’. But regardless of who has spoken, they have become good and are also accurate.

For example, the context of a dialogue ‘This is good, if you did not understand it, then made it in Urdu’ is wonderful. Yes, the family is rich, where the relationships have the same fate as the flowers of Gulmohar, they bloom a lot like bright colors, but after blooming, after being decorated, they have to be scattered on the roads.

But here is the rider that luck is there, it is in our hands, if you leave hesitation and come out of hesitation, then there is no stone unturned in becoming perfect. If we talk about the artists, one liner is made, in the perfect film made on the perfect story, one to all all the actors are perfect.

Manoj Bajpayee has put his life in the role of a middle age businessman, a responsible but restless father and a son who does not shy away from challenges. It is a great feeling to see Sharmila Tagore on screen after years. He has his own aura. Whenever she comes on screen, she attracts attention. Seeing the ease with which Sharmila has played the character of Kusum, it seems that only she could have played this character.

Another character in the film is Kusum ji’s granddaughter with whom grandmother’s story line is an important aspect of the whole story. Yes, the relationship between mother and son i.e. Kusum and Arun (Manoj Bajpayee) is also interesting. Arun’s obedience is something like every 50-55 years old son has to be nowadays.

The irony is this stage of age where on one hand the son does not question his parents and on the other hand there is utter helplessness in front of the orders of his children. Means, he never acted on his own will nor did he act. Among other actors, Amol Palekar has done a great job in the role of Batra Uncle’s villain, two actors are worth mentioning.

One is Suraj Sharma who has played the role of Arun Batra’s son. He portrays his indecisive relationship with his father over his struggling startup and his indecisive relationship with his working wife. The second is Simran, who played the role of Arun’s (Manoj Bajpayee) wife, a daughter-in-law and a mother as well. The film is being streamed on Disney Hotstar, the duration is approximately 2 hours 12 minutes. If you miss, you will have to miss a lot.
