The teaser of the film ‘Maidan’ begins with the introduction of the Indian football team in the 1950s. This teen has qualified for the Olympics for the second time. Many glimpses of the struggles of football coach Syed Abdul Rahim have been shown in the trailer of the film ‘Maidan’. It is said that Abdul was suffering from cancer. Despite this, he did not leave the coaching of the team. In 1962, the Jakarta Asian Games were being played. Abdul’s illness had increased a lot. The final match was to be with the team of South Korea. Three important players of the Indian team had fallen ill. But Abdul did not give up on the morale of his team. He stayed with them. Seeing his enthusiasm, all the three sick players got down on the field. The result was that the Indian team won the gold medal by winning the match. In the very next year, in 1963, Abdul Rahim died while battling cancer. At the end of the teaser, Abdul has a dialogue, “Aaj Maidan Me Utharna 11 Lekin Dikhna 1”.
