In memory of Irrfan Khan… Four films which are proof of Irrfan’s powerful performance!

Irrfan Khan started his career with a small role in the 1988 film ‘Salaam Bombay’. But after this film there was a long struggle. After the release of the first film, he was offered only small roles in films. During this, he did many small roles in more than a dozen films. But the film Haasil, released in the year 2003, changed both the condition and direction of his career. The very next year, the film ‘Maqbool’ was released, which took Irrfan’s career to a height. His performance in the Bengali film ‘The Namesake’ released in the year 2006 was highly praised. He also received the Best Supporting Actor Award for this film. After this, he was awarded the National Award for the films ‘Life in a Metro’ (2007) and ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ (2011).

Films like ‘The Lunchbox’ (2013), ‘Piku’ (2015) and ‘Talvar’ (2015) gave a new dimension to his career, after which his fame reached the international level. He also acted in Hollywood movies like ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ (2012), ‘Life of Pi’ (2012), ‘Jurassic World’ (2015), ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ (2008) and ‘Inferno’ (2016) . Irrfan was a walking school of acting. Whatever character he got, he used to put his life in it. He studied acting from National School of Drama Delhi. He was influenced by Nasruddin Shah and Dilip Kumar since childhood. Wanted to act like him. But he thought how a person who looked like him would become a hero. Irrfan also received the Filmfare Award for Best Negative Role for this film. Regarding the casting of the film, Tigmanshu had once said that if Irrfan was not there, it would not have been achieved. Tigmanshu and Irrfan met at the National School of Drama. It was here that he saw Irrfan’s acting and had made up his mind that whenever he made his first film, he would take Irrfan in the lead role.
